Raymond’s Innovative Business Belles/Beaus of the New South was formed in 2003 after a small group of business women found themselves meeting regularly for coffee sharing ideas to promote their businesses and increase commerce in Raymond. With input from many different individuals, the informal group grew into an organization of talented, creative women and men with a vision for the future of Raymond and a passion for making our city the best place to live, shop tour and enjoy!

RIBBONS hosts several events that are intended to showcase our lovely town and increase awareness and commerce.
The Fall Festival has been held in Raymond for the past five years on the first Saturday in November. The festival provides a background for fun and camaraderie for citizens of Raymond and its visitors.

Raymond businesses participate in an Open House before the Christmas season and RIBBONS also has a vignette set up at Eagle Ridge Conference Center to inspire everyone to “Shop Raymond.” This year, before the Thanksgiving holidays, RIBBONS will set up an “Our Doors Are Open To You” display on the Raymond Campus of Hinds Community College to let students and staff know what is available in Raymond to meet their shopping needs.

Raymond’s Innovative Business Belles/Beaus of the New South presents “A Day in Lily’s Garden,” a celebration of the daylily, on the first Saturday in June. The day, made up of visits to gardens and shops and porches around town, was designed to promote community spirit that extends friendliness to new and old acquaintances.

Special Thanks: Mayor Isla Tullos and the Raymond Board of Aldermen are to be congratulated and thanked for their vison in creating the plan for our continuous city beautification. Their innovative efforts have allowed our city to be recognized as a thriving town by out-of-town visitors and as a beautiful place to live by our citizens.

The Town Crew works diligently to maintain the city’s flower beds around the town and they are to be applauded on a job well done. The Board’s forethought and desire to preserve our community’s sense of place and its individuality is evident in the decisions and policies it carries out in dealing with enhancement of Raymond’s growth and development.
